Scoring Rules

Video Lessons (with assessments)

Participants are given points based on their best passing (80% and above) score.

  • You receive points based on your score in the lesson, with a maximum score of 100 points for 100%.

  • You will be docked 10 points for subsequent attempts at the same lesson.

    • For example, 10 points from 2nd attempt, 20 from 3rd etc.

  • The lowest possible score you can receive for a completed lesson is 10 points (10%).

  • If there is a tie, the individual who completed the lessons in less time would be considered the winner.

Lesson with Experiments

If lesson is video with an experiment, you have to complete the lesson assessment and the experiment to get points.

  • 5 points are deducted for each hint used, using the final hint in an exercise will deduct 10 points

  • As an example, if you pass the assessment on the first try with 10/10 questions correct (100%) and you pass the experiment on the first try with no hints - your score would be 200 points for that lesson.
