Adding Learner Attributes via SSO - Microsoft Entra ID

Learn how to add and map learner attributes via Microsoft Entra ID SSO to enrich learner profiles, improve reporting, and support targeted training assignments in the Security Journey platform.

What are Learner Attributes?

You can choose to map learner attributes - things like first name, last name, title, job role, company, country etc. We use some of this data to enrich your learner's profiles. Additionally, these attributes can be used to do custom filtering on our Platform reports or to push out training assignments to different groups of people within your organization. Prerequisites:

  • Existing Enterprise Application for Security Journey
  • Setup SSO

Adding New Attributes & Claims

  • Sign in to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center
  • Browse to Identity > Applications > Enterprise Applications
  • Find Security Journey
  • Manage > Single Sign-on
  • Edit Attributes & Claims
  • + Add new claim

By default, Entra includes givenname, surname, emailaddress, name and the Unique User Identifier.

You can modify these existing claims or add new ones. If you choose to edit the existing claims, you will need to remove the 'namespace' URI from the claim configuration otherwise it will not come across as expected.

The screenshot below shows what it should look like after setup:

Note: After adding attributes, force a login by signing in through an Incognito or InPrivate browser. This step isn’t required for users who have never logged in.
