Lesson Re-Assignment
Step-by-step guide to reassigning a lesson so learners can retake training in Security Journey.
Overview
Security Journey’s training methodology is built around the philosophy of Progressive Learning, and most paths are designed to be completed once. However, some organizations need learners to re-take lessons—for example:
-
to meet compliance requirements
-
to reinforce important security topics
-
to ensure learners revisit updated or high-priority content
Lesson re-assignment allows admin to require learners to re-take previously completed lessons when a path or quest is activated and used in an assignment.
What Lesson Re-Assignment Does
When enabled on a new or duplicated path/quest:
-
learners may be required to re-take lessons they previously completed
-
if you create an assignment using that path/quest, the assignment will also require learners to re-take completed lessons included in the path/quest (Security Journey Help Center)
How to Enable Lesson Re-Assignment
To enable this feature, you must create a new path/quest or duplicate an existing one.
Steps
-
Create a new training path or quest or duplicate an existing path/quest.
-
During setup, you will see a prompt asking:
“Would you like to require learners to re-take previously completed lessons?” -
Select Yes to enable lesson re-assignment.
-
Save the path/quest.
Important: When you save the path, you will be reminded that this setting cannot be undone.
Learner Experience
If a path or quest requires learners to re-take lessons, Security Journey will indicate this directly within the learner’s path:
-
Both Map View and List View show learners when a lesson has been re-assigned.
Reporting Impact
When Require learners to re-take previously completed lessons is enabled:
-
Each completed lesson will appear as its own lesson attempt in the Lesson Attempts Report.
-
A Completed On column is added to the learner’s enrollment details.
Where to View Learner Enrollment Details
Go to: Admin → Progress → Search for the learner’s email address.
When to Use This Feature
Lesson Re-Assignment is best used when your organization needs learners to:
-
revalidate knowledge for compliance
-
refresh training on critical or recurring vulnerabilities
-
repeat content as part of a formal reassignment cycle
