Security Journey Reporting Overview

This article discusses our Platform Reports; both reports visible in the UI and downloadable only reports.

Security Journey Reporting Overview

Security Journey includes multiple reporting options to help administrators track learner progress, measure program adoption, and export data for deeper analysis. This article provides a high-level overview of the reporting tools available in the platform and when to use each one.

Reporting in the Admin UI

Security Journey provides several reporting views directly in the Admin interface. These reports help you monitor training performance, learner engagement, assignment and assessment completion without requiring data exports.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is designed for quick visibility into the overall status of your training program. It provides a high-level snapshot of key activity and progress metrics, including visual indicators such as the Learning Funnel, which helps identify what levels learners have completed and where they may be dropping off.

Use the Dashboard when you want to:

  • check overall program progress at a glance

  • share high-level metrics with leadership

  • identify broad engagement trends

Progress Report

The Progress Report provides learner-level visibility into training progress. It is useful for tracking how learners are moving through paths and understanding their current training status.

Use the Progress Report when you want to:

  • see completion and progress by learner

  • monitor progress for specific paths or levels

  • identify learners who may need reminders or follow-up

Assignment Progress

The Assignment Progress report supports assignment-based training programs by providing visibility into progress for content that has been formally assigned (especially helpful for required training).

Use Assignment Progress when you want to:

  • track required training completion

  • monitor progress toward assignment deadlines

  • support compliance or audit reporting

Usage

The Usage report focuses on platform license usage, including license expiration dates and lessons consumed across all levels. This report helps you understand overall adoption and whether learners are actively using the platform.

Use the Usage report when you want to:

  • review license utilization and overall adoption

  • monitor license expiration timelines

  • track lessons consumed across platform levels

Learning Swing

Learning Swing provides another view into learner engagement and training trends over time. The Security Journey Learning Swing is measured by “before and after” learner self-assessment on an individual lesson basis. The difference between the before and after ratings is the learning swing. This data can help you identify increases in knowledge over time.

Use Learning Swing when you want to:

  • track learning momentum over time

  • identify spikes or drop-offs in engagement

Downloadable Reports

Security Journey also provides downloadable report exports, which are typically used for deeper analysis outside the platform (for example in Excel, Google Sheets, or BI tools).

Downloadable reports are helpful when you need:

  • larger datasets than what is shown in the UI

  • custom pivots, filters, or charts

  • reports that combine Security Journey data with internal HR/team data

  • archived reporting for audits or historical tracking

Assessment Reporting

If your organization uses Security Journey assessments, reporting tools are available to review assessment outcomes and learner performance.

Assessment reporting can support:

  • baseline evaluations (pre-training)

  • progress measurement over time

  • cohort comparisons

  • reporting on skill readiness

Integrations and Advanced Reporting Options

For organizations that need to send reporting data to external systems (such as an LMS, data warehouse, or BI tool), Security Journey supports several integration options.

Public API

The Public API enables you to extract reporting data directly from Security Journey and use it in external tools, dashboards, or automated workflows.

Common uses include:

  • BI dashboard integration (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)

  • internal reporting pipelines

  • syncing training data with an LMS or HR system

Webhooks

Webhooks allow Security Journey to send event-based updates of learner's path or level completion to external systems (like Slack) when certain actions occur, supporting automation and near-real-time syncing. To learn more, check out this article

xAPI

Security Journey supports xAPI, which allows learning activity data to be sent to an external Learning Record Store (LRS) or analytics system.
