Assign Targeted Training with Aspen Adapt
This article explains how Security Journey automates custom assignments for your learners, based on the CWEs they've created.
Overview
Aspen Adapt helps Security Journey admins create personalized training assignments based on CWE findings reported from a learner’s source control workflow.
When a learner is associated with a CWE finding, Aspen Adapt recommends relevant secure coding lessons for that learner. Admins can review those recommendations, make changes if needed, and activate the assignment when it is ready.
How it Works
When CWE findings are sent to Security Journey, Aspen Adapt uses them to build a personalized lesson assignment for the associated learner.
As additional CWE findings are reported, Aspen Adapt continues to update the learner’s staged assignment with relevant lesson recommendations. This keeps the assignment focused on the learner’s current training needs.
Admin Workflow
All personalized assignments are staged in the Training tab within Aspen Adapt.
From the Training tab, admins can:
- View available personalized assignments
- Review the recommended lessons
- Edit the assignment if changes are needed
- Activate the assignment when it is ready for the learner
This gives admins control over what learners receive and when the training becomes available.
Learner Experience
After an admin activates the assignment, the learner will see it in the platform’s To Do section.
The assignment will be labeled as a Personalized Assignment, so learners can easily identify that the training was recommended based on their individual needs.
Reporting
Admins can track learner progress by going to:
Reporting > Assignment Progress > Personalized Lesson Assignment
If new CWE findings are reported for a learner, admins can return to the Training tab in Aspen Adapt to review updated recommendations and create a new personalized assignment when needed.
