⏱ What is a Timed Assessment?
Timed Assessments require learners to complete an Assessment within a specific time limit set by an administrator.
How Timed Assessments Work:
-
Once a learner starts a timed Assessment, the countdown begins immediately.
-
The Assessment must be completed in a single session.
-
The timer continues to run even if the learner closes the browser window, switches tabs, or navigates away from Security Journey.
-
-
A visible countdown timer appears in the upper-right corner of the Assessment screen, showing the remaining time.
🕓 How Long Does an Assessment Take?
If no time limit is enforced (i.e., untimed), the guide estimates ~ 90 seconds per question.
Here’s a breakdown by category (when all three are included):
Total (all categories): 50 questions
❓ What Happens If a Learner Doesn’t Finish a Timed Assessment?
If a learner runs out of time (or closes the window etc.), any questions not answered are scored as 0%.
🔄 Skipping Questions — Can You Return to Them Later?
Yes — during an Assessment you can hit “Skip for now” on a question you don’t want to answer immediately and move to the next.
-
After you’ve moved through all questions, you’ll be given the chance to answer skipped questions.
-
But: if you skip and don’t come back to answer before submitting skipped/unanswered questions are scored as zero.
