How to Change the Level of a Duplicated or Custom Path

Change the level of a duplicated or custom Path (e.g., Foundational, Intermediate, Advanced) by editing the Path settings—plus how to duplicate a Recommended Path first if needed.

Overview

Security Journey Recommended Paths are set to specific levels (for example, Foundational, Intermediate, and Advanced). Typically, learners complete a Foundational path before moving on to higher levels.

In some cases, you may want to assign a higher-level path to a learner who is just starting out. To support this, you can change a Path’s level as long as the Path is duplicated or custom (Recommended Paths can’t be edited directly).

Before You Begin

  • You cannot edit a Recommended Path directly.

  • To change the level of a Recommended Path, you must duplicate it first.

Change the Level of a Duplicated or Custom Path

Step 1: Duplicate the Recommended Path (if needed)

  1. Go to Admin.

  2. Navigate to Paths & Quests.

  3. Select the Path you want to modify.

  4. Click Duplicate Path.

After duplicating, you’ll be redirected to My Paths.

Step 2: Edit the duplicated Path

  1. From My Paths, find your duplicated Path.

  2. Click Edit.

Step 3: Update the Path level

  1. At the top of the Path editor, select the Level dropdown (for example, Foundational).

  2. Choose the new level you want to apply.

  3. When prompted to confirm the change (you’ll see a message asking if you’re sure), click Confirm.

Step 4: Save your changes

  1. Click Save before leaving the page.

Notes

  • Changing a Path’s level can impact how learners progress through level-based assignments, depending on how your training program is structured.

  • If you don’t see the ability to edit the level, confirm you’re working on a duplicated or custom Path (not a default Recommended Path).
