Restricted Paths
Learn how restricted paths work in Security Journey and how administrators control learner access to training.
What is a Restricted Path?
When a path is activated in Security Journey, it becomes visible to all learners who have access to the platform.
A Restricted Path limits that visibility. When a path is restricted:
-
Only learners who are explicitly assigned the path can see it.
-
The path will not appear to other learners in the platform.
This allows you to enable additional training paths without making them visible to everyone in your organization.
Why would I want to restrict a path?
Restricting a path is useful when you want specific groups of learners to complete training that does not apply to the entire organization.
Common use cases include:
-
Role-based training paths (e.g., training for developers, architects, or security champions)
-
Compliance-based training with required completion deadlines
-
Targeted training initiatives for a specific team or project
By restricting the path, you can ensure that the assigned training is prioritized for the intended learners without adding extra content to the broader learning catalog.
How do I restrict a path?
Follow these steps to restrict a path:
-
Log in to Security Journey.
-
Navigate to Admin → Paths & Quests.
-
Activate the path you want to restrict.
-
Click View Path.
-
Click the Restrict button in the top-right corner.

Once restricted, the path will only be visible to learners who have been directly assigned to it. It will not appear on the My Journey page for other learners.
