Search Functionality Is Broken Error (Broken Authentication Lesson)

This article provides instructions on how to resolve "search functionality is broken" error.

Error:

The normal expected functionality with the search feature in the sandbox app is broken. You are unable to find a user.

Test 1

Try logging in with username=alice and password=monkey1. Then try a search for "bob". Does this work as it did before you made changes?

Test 2

Try logging in with username=alice and password=monkey1. Then try a search for "alice". Does this work as it did before you made changes? 

Test 3

Try logging in with username=alice and password=monkey1. Then try a search for a name that does not exist. Does this work as it did before you made changes?

Test 4

Try logging in with username=bob and password=password. Then try a search for "eve". Does this work as it did before you made changes?
